Finding a naturally deeper and slower breath can be beneficial to our health. A deep breath can help regulate our nervous system - allowing us to relax, bring down blood pressure and lower the heart rate. However, as we teach in Yoga, our practice is to first find awareness so we can invite change without force, but with acceptance and surrender.
This short breathing meditation is simple, aimed at building our breath awareness. In taking ten minutes (or even a few moments) to regularly notice the breath, your breath will transform. You will become more conscious of your breath (and therefore your nervous system) and find that you are attuned to yourself, thus training yourself in the most gentle way possible to breathe slowly and deeply.
